Glacier hike on Tystigbreen

Weather and conditions
The hike on the glacier is about 2-4 hours in total. We explore the glacier in a safe way, either with crampons or snowshoes. Depending on when in the season you are with, there may be different conditions; both in terms of the weather and the actual conditions on the glacier. It can only be blue, or it can be snow cover on the surface with blue below - so-called snow-covered glacier. The thickness of the snow cover depends on how much snow falls the previous winter, as well as how quickly it melts in the summer.
What should you bring?
We provide you with the necessary safety equipment and professional guide. In your backpack (30-50 liters) you bring: sunscreen, extra wool sweater, hat, sunglasses, gloves / mittens, small seat pad, waterproof and windproof outerwear, as well as packed lunch, enough drinks and extra energy (chocolate, fruit, nuts, etc. ). You must wear good, ankle-high mountain shoes and dress according to the weather forecast for the high mountains (link to yr.no/sted here).
Degree of difficulty (level)
It is an advantage to be in general, everyday physical shape. You must have sufficient physique to move 250 meters in height over 1,5 kilometers, both upwards and downwards. In addition, you must be both physically and mentally enduring to stay and travel outdoors in different, potentially changing weather conditions in the high mountains (up to and including 1700 masl). We use a calm pace and adapt the trip to the wishes, level and skills of the individual rope team.
